build-up on the roller surface and begin degrading their product until someone determines a quality issue requires the line to stop for manual cleaning. Automated cleaning is also safer.

Why stop, when our systems are able to automatically clean your rollers on demand in whatever time interval you choose? And, by keeping contamination from building to a severe level it removes debris quicker, frequently only requiring a pass or two to maintain your quality.
The RG Egan system cleans like no other! With our system installed you customize the commands to your specific needs. Every new project on your press offers cleaning challenges. The RG Egan system is easily programmable at the start of your run to affect problem areas while cleaning the entire roll. Clean the entire roll, clean a portion, or focus on one area. The system is easily programmable to meet your needs specific to each job.
Cleaning head wipes from the left edge of rollers or CI Drum to right edge. Our new oscillating feature scrubs as it moves for a full clean.
The cleaner moves towards the center of the roller and upon reaching a preset sensor the pad extends wiping the roller from the inside the web to the outside edge of the roller. Once it reaches the edge of the roller it advances cloth and reverses in the opposite direction. The Offset Control function prevents contaminates on the outside edge of the product from being dragged under the web.
Using the SET - UP on the control panel the operator is able to move the cleaning head to a pre-determined location and then allows the cleaner to wipe a single location with an oscillating motion.
The distance and speed the head will travel on top of an area is controlled by the operator.

This allows variable parameters to be changed prior to starting a cycle.
Allows the operator to see the number of cloth advances since the last time the cloth roll was replaced. It also allows the operator to place a value in the Preset Variable for the number of advances before a Cloth Warning Preset alarm occurs. This is will vary depending on the value for the cloth increment set in the Set-Up value for the amount of cloth advance on each cycle.
The cleaner has reached the minimum cloth limit and must be replaced before the machine will operate. Replace the roll of cloth using the same thread-up as currently installed on the cleaner. If you are not sure how to thread-up cloth see the “Cloth Thread-up Procedure.
The time the cleaning head will dwell at the edges of the web width settings.
The variable setting determines how long before the cleaner waits on the far end of the roll before it begins the return cycle.
When in Auto cycle it is the amount of time before the next cleaning cycle will be automatically initiated.
A level switch inside the liquid tank detects when the vessel requires refilling.

The Contact Cleaning Roll (CCR) is a proprietary polymercoated roll which removes surface contaminants from your product by simply rolling over its surface. Our rolls are designed for maximum cleaning effectiveness without disrupting your machine tension or edge guide controls. CCR performs in a wide variety of manufacturing processes for industries such as:
• film extrusion packaging • coating
• printing • laminating slitting
Unlike traditional cleaning methods that rely on solventbased adhesives or leachable plasticizers, CCR's customformulated elastomer surface enables it to clean by itself. And a CCR does not leave residue on your product. A key feature of our CCR is flexibility. We can cover an existing idle roll from your current process or manufacture a new roll to your machine specifications. CCRs can be produced in any diameter and length. Once it becomes loaded with contamination, you can wipe our CCR with a damp cloth, or let one of our Automatic Roll Cleaners do the job for you. CCRs are installed as idler rolls, providing zero relative velocity at the CCR/film contact point. Traditional brushes operate in counter rotation, possibly causing abrasion and scratches, while vacuum blower systems cannot overcome boundary layer air and have expensive filter systems.
Our CCR overcomes static charges on the film. Traditional brush or vacuum methods cannot provide this advantage.
How ARCs Work ARCs push a clean pad or cloth against the surface of a roll several times during each production run. The goal is to remove contamination deposits from your machine roll without interrupting the process. The result is continuous roll cleaning without the need for machine shutdowns.
ARCs are automatically controlled and are easily adjusted for cleaning frequency and speed, without risking operator injury or costly machine downtime. The design allows them to be mounted in ary direction, requiring little space and will clean the entire roll or a single spot without damaging the roll surface.
Our ARCs can be provided with a complete control panel or you can integrate into your existing control system. If you require water or solvents for cleaning, the controls can precisely meter liquid to the cleaning pad to remove the toughest contamination from your rolls.
With the only traversing CI Drum Cleaner on the market that offers two cleaning pads for removing ink from the surface of the drum. The R.G. Egan system allows the operator to select our standard pad that gently wipes the drum surface, removing slip and ink build-up, or the second option, to select a soft bristle brush to push the cleaning fabric against the drum surface allowing a more aggressive wipe that helps remove some of the toughest inks dried on the surface of the drum. No one else offers this patented feature.
With the R.G. Egan design operators have simple options to control our cleaner and determine which set-up is the best choice for your press whether you are printing or down for the next set-up.
In November 2013 R.G. Egan Equipment, Inc. received a patent for wiping flexographic printing plates while the press is running, without diminishing print quality. This design is truly state-of-the-art and moves the industry a step closer to full automation for press cleaning and eliminating the need to stop to manually clean the press.
Our soft contact pad and fabric is able to collect debris stuck on the plate surface and transfer it to the surface of our fabric without damaging the plate, then advancing the cloth to a fresh area for the next wipe. And, by locating the cleaner before ink is reapplied to the plate we are able to keep from diminishing the print quality. In some applications the print quality improves due to the removal of dried ink sticking to the plate surface.
